Hello,

The main reason to your problem may be the following.

1. The reference address of the shortcut mat have been replaced,

2. The other reason may be the Photoshop set up have been replaced or relocated.

3. May be the drive in which your Photoshop has been installed is locked.

4. Check for the following reasons and make sure that the shortcut is correctly referred to the installation location.

Thank you.

Hi Berthapearll,

Your Photoshop shortcut link is missed the path of original Photoshop icon.

First follow that steps to again make the new shortcut for Photoshop:

  1. Open My computer
  2. Open C drive and then program files
  3. Go to adobe folder
  4. Go to Photoshop folder
  5. Found photoshop.exe and right click on that icon
  6. And select send to > Desktop (create shortcut)

this may help you. Thanks!

I suggest that you have to uninstall your Photoshop.

1. Click “Start” button

2. Go to control panel

3. Below the word “Programs” click uninstall a program

4. Go and find Photoshop that you have installed

5. Right click and uninstall it

I would like you to know about the compatibility issue, you are encountering this kind of error because there is a possibility that your operating system is not compatible with your Photoshop.

Search in Google: latest version of Photoshop that is compatible (to your current Operating system).

Download and install.

I hope this will help you.

Hello Bertha,

Where is the Photoshop icon that you're trying to copy? I'm guessing it should be in a USB drive or external hard disk. The problem you are getting could be because of the following reasons:

  • The USB drive you are copying to could be disconnected, and therefore you will need to verify that and rectify. Or if the destination you are copying to is a USB drive or external drive that is available then you will get that error.
  • The file you are copying is a shortcut, and you cannot copy or transfer shortcuts. You will need to find the original file and work with it.

Regards,

Carl
