Data protection manager is a robust enterprise backup and recovery system that facilitating the backup and recovery of the data.

• The data protection manager (DPM) 2010 backup or stores the data at this location:

C:Program FilesMicrosoft DPMDPMVVolumesShadowCopyDatabase Backups.

• The following directory contains power script that comes from DPM:

C: Program FilesMicrosoft DPMDPMbin.

• The DPM is installed in the following directory:

C: Program FilesMicrosoft DPM.

We can find SQL reporting service, SQL DPM database, shadow copy volumes, and mounted replica volume on the same location with different names.

We also have some of the executable files as DPMLA.exe, DPMRA.exe, and DPMAC.exe, which are library agent service, replication service, and agent coordinator service.
