Some development teams have stopped working on their old apps. But old users of those apps still feel homely with them. Is it safe to use those apps? is it worth our money or should we look for something else? Will those apps continue to work in long run?

Past provide us a ladder so that we could climb easily.  During our travel, we may encounter difficulties that before we could climb up more, we need to step down a bit or more. In today's technology, we learned from the old Apps the basic use of it and later on we have come to develop more from it. It is now up to the user which of these Apps suited to his lifestyle and which is more practical. Do the user need to buy a new one or the old still satisfies what is necessary.

Actually, there is no problem in using old applications especially if you’re used to it. It is also a good way to save money if the new version or upgrading becomes quite expensive. If you know the task that needs to be done can be accomplished by the old program, I don’t see any problem.

But if the new version will provide you better productivity, upgrading to a new version is like your own investment. If your operating system is still supported by the latest releases of the applications, it is better to install the new version because it provides new features that are not available on the previous version plus some performance enhancements.

Upgrading or installing the new version will really depend on your requirement. If you are satisfied with the current version and you don’t need the new features being offered by the new version or it will not add any improvement in your productivity, I don’t see any problem sticking with the old version.
