The password can be easily disabled or deactivated by installing OpenOffice program for free from www.openoffice.org. Following are some easy steps to unprotect the protected worksheet so that it becomes workable for you in case you do not remember the password.

.Open the Excel worksheet through Openoffice. This can be easily done by right clicking on the worksheet icon and selecting “Open With” option and then choosing “scalc”.

.When the sheets is open, click on “Tools”, select “Protect Document” and then uncheck both “Document” and “Sheet”.

.Click on “File” section and press “Save As” to save the file in unprotected mode.

.Now close that worksheet and open worksheet in excel mode to see if it’s workable which it will be and you can easily change and modify it.
