Custom desktop computer cannot download files

Hello. I have built my own computer (GA-880GM-UD2H Motherboard, AMD Phenom II 3.4GHz CPU, 16GB RAM), and I also own a laptop. Recently, whenever I try to download any file from Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, they seem to come in really small chunks of MBs. After a while, and a pathetic percentage, the download stops claiming errors. When I restart it, it simply resumes for some more MBs, and then stops again. The laptop has no issues. Where should I start looking for a problem? What could the problem be?

If you have a problem with downloading with either of the 2 web browsers, try reinstalling one of them or probably update it to the latest version then try downloading again. If there is no change even if you are already using the latest version, try installing a different web browser like Opera then try downloading a file with this browser.

See if there is a difference. If the download still doesn’t go smoothly and continuously, try cleaning your computer. Aside from cleaning the browsing history of the web browser, other junk files on the computer can affect the download progress. Try downloading CCleaner 4.17.4808. It will not only clean your computer from any accumulated junk but will also boost the performance.
