I am using Word 2010 in a Windows XP environment on a Dell Vostro 1400 laptop. I have noticed that since the last few weeks, while I am typing in a Word document, the cursor produces a very slow result. Sometimes when I pause, then it catches up on the typing. Can any one tell me what is causing this? How can I fix it, please any remedies will be welcomed. Thanks

It's important to find out if the slowness of the cursor is only limited to Ms. Word or applies to other programs. This can be done by opening a different application and using the cursor. If indeed the problem is across board, a quick solution is amending the cursor's speed.Click on the "start button" and select the "control tab" locate the 'hardware and sound" tab and click it, under the "devices and printers" click at the mouse tab, drag the cursor to adjust the speed to desired performance. Ensure that you apply the new settings for the change to be implemented.

Just incase your using a wireless mouse its worthwhile to check on the status of the battery, it could be a cause for slowness.
