Resolution 1:

To resolve that issue, you will need to reinstall your Crossfire with a fresh setup and make sure that the firewall doesn´t block the patcher. Temporarily disable the firewall and antivirus when installing crossfire.

Resolution 2:

If you still get the error, do the following:

  • Uninstall Crossfire.
  • Go to your Programme Files folder.
  • Delete the folder called "z8games".
  • Install it again. It should work.

Regards,

Tyler

If your Crossfire game encountered a problem after you installed the patch, you probably need to uninstall and reinstall your game and install the latest available patch. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select your Crossfire game among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process.

When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, exit Revo Uninstaller then download the free version of CCleaner and install it. Once installed, start CCleaner and clean your system. Install Crossfire back then download the latest Crossfire Manual Patch and install it.

See if this works. Also, make sure your computer meets the requirements. Crossfire supports Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. It requires 3.30 GHz Intel Core i3 or faster processor, 4 GB RAM, NVIDIA GT 630 or better video card, 6 GB free space, Microsoft DirectX 9.0c or higher, and internet connection (cable, DSL, or faster).

If this doesn’t fix the problem, repeat the same steps to uninstall Crossfire then download the latest Crossfire client and the latest patch. This should fix the problem.
