Hi,
I wanted to create a backup image of the hard drive of my Desktop in the same way but when I try to do it I get this error message. Anyone know what the issue might be? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am familiar with this error, and for sure you are using Acronis for creating backups.
Here is what needs to be done.
Go to Control Panel-> Administrative Tools -> Services and make sure that Acronis Scheduler 2 Service Startup Type is set to automatic. Just Right Click on it, Properties and select Automatic.
Also open Windows Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) , go to File -> New Task, and type in schedhlp.exe and schedul2.exe (located in the AcronisSchedule folder)
You can also download Schedmgr and run it with this command : schedmgr.exe service start.
