I recently installed a SHOUTcast 2 server in my computer. My friend learned about this and he wanted to stream on it. However, he cannot connect and it always says “Connection rejected. Bad icy header string [icy-name:].” I don’t know why it happens every time he tries to connect but I had configured my SHOUTcast properly because I followed the directions in the manual that icy-name should be used if the host/user does not give one.
I hope you could help me with my problem. Thank you very much.
Connection problem for SHOUTcast 2 server
What I suppose that should be happening here is that the source need to giving a title as 'titleformat, ' and that will not be even considered at stage in the connection. In case there happens to be a value for 'titleformat' then 'icy-name' could be allowed through, but only as an empty key-pair.
So I will suggest that you make a point to possibly get that changed, but then you will be better off getting it so as to be sure that the title has been specified, even if it may be just a single or something else. So just try that out and if it does not work I will suggest that you reinstall the application.
