Hi Denver,

If you enabled POP3 on your Outlook, 0x800ccc92 is common error that occurs frequently. There is no problem while sending mail but when you receives mail this problem get start.

To get rid of this frustrating problem you can try various alternatives: Firstly disable antivirus program if any and check firewall settings. If you have made changes to firewall settings change setting to default. If problem remains delete existing account and recreate your same account in Outlook. Try to alter password as well.

If error 0x800CCC92 is still continue while receiving mails make copy of all your mails and delete your account eternally form Outlook. Then create complete new account and try again.

If still problem persist you can then remove Outlook Express and reinstall it and see issue has been solved or not. If all alternatives you tried fetch no success then there is definitely problem with email exchange server or the outlook express you are using. You can try to resolve this by update outlook to the most recent service pack or patch available from Microsoft. You can download that from Microsoft support site. Always update Microsoft products to keep away from such error in future.

As how Microsoft explains it, you will receive the 0x800CCC92 error message when you are retrieving your email message from Microsoft Exchange Server. Whether you are using Microsoft Office Outlook or Thunderbird or any other email client, as long as you are connected to Microsoft Exchange Server, it is likely that you will get this error.

It can happen on both IMAP and POP3 email protocols. This issue was encountered in Microsoft Exchange Server 2000. Microsoft also confirmed that this is a problem with Microsoft products. If you encounter this issue and you are accessing your email messages via Microsoft Exchange Server 2000, it can be fixed by updating Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 to Service Pack 2.

If you are using a different version of Microsoft Exchange Server, installing the latest available Service Pack might fix the problem.
