Communication error during chat using AIM instant messenger

Hello to all,

I have been using AIM instant messenger on my system and one day all of a sudden I was disconnected from chat, and there was a connection error on my screen.

The screenshot of the error is as follows:

The error says:

There was a communication error during your chat.

Appleu3test02 cancelled the connection. You can send details about this problem to Apple to help improve future version of iChat.

Can anyone please explain what should I do to get rid of this error and what is the root cause behind this?

Hi Aron Morgan,

It turns out the error is coming from your ichat application. Some people are able to fix a communication error by using a new account. I don’t know how that exactly works, but it seemed the error is during your account creation. Just try creating a new account and see if that would solve the problem.

However, if that doesn’t work, keep in mind that generally, connection errors in ichat can be caused by a firewall. Make sure you allow this program through the firewall and make sure that the person you’re chatting with is allowing it too.
