CHANGED TO WINDOWS FIREWALL, LOST INTERNET CONNECTION

Hi,

I have windows vista on my desktop computer.  I was using Zone Alarm for firewall, but it didn’t work for me. So after a few days, I disabled it.  I also tried the 60 day trial that I got from Norton.  Yesterday, the trial period ended. So I uninstalled Norton and used windows firewall.  After restarting my computer, I cannot connect to the internet anymore.  I am connected to the network, but it’s odd that I cannot connect to the internet.

I tried to find the reason by running diagnostics and it informed me that my wireless driver is having hardware issue.  What does this mean?

Please help.

Thanks.

ZoneAlarm may malfunction because of a corrupted database.

Please try to configure the ZoneAlarm firewall for you to allow Firefox/Thunderbird/Mozilla Suite/SeaMonkey access to the Internet. Please open the ZoneAlarm control center and select "Program Control" on the left.

Select "Programs" on the top and the application's entry (e.g., Firefox) in that list and make sure there is a (green) check mark in the "Access Internet" column.

Make sure the application version shown in the bottom of the window matches the version you are using.

If the previous instructions don't work, right click on the application's entry (e.g., "Firefox") and select "Remove".

Do this for all entries for that application.

The next time you start the application, ZoneAlarm should ask you whether you want to allow access.

Good luck!
