Can’t find a viewer associated with the file

My friend sent me a file which are pictures taken from their house. But when I am trying to open it to my computer using my picture viewers I got this error. I tried to open it with Microsoft office picture manager, Picture viewer etc. Is the file corrupted or I need some other program to open the file? Thanks.

There may have multiple possibilities to view that error message while opening an image file

1. The image file that your friend sent is corrupted

2. Set the file extension: Right click on that file> Click rename > set name with extension (e.g. photo.jpg)

If you are not able to set or see the extensions on your computer then do the following things:

If you use windows xp, then click on 'tools" > click on "Folder option"

Now new window will appear, click on "view" Tab > Check the "Hide extension for know file type"

Then click on "OK"

Now you can change the extension to, .JPG, .PNG, . JIF etc

If you still can't open the file and getting the same error message then, the file is definitely corrupted and ask your friend to resend that file again

Good luck
