Hi, I am always use Windows XP to work in my computer. Recently I decided to use Windows Server 2003, so I have back up my all hard disk all data from Windows XP. When I use Windows XP I use Gmail in my outlook express.
Some of friend tells that Microsoft out look is better for mail. So when I installed Windows Server 2003 I installed Microsoft office 2003, now I need to configure my Gmail in ms outlook, I want to collect my mail from when I use windows XP and use outlook express.

Can’t collect mail from outlook express
Hi Madona,
If you want to transfer (or load) your emails from the time you were using Outlook on Windows XP, you should backup your emails from your Outlook on XP. On Windows XP: Open your Windows Explorer and go to your C:Documents and SettingsLoginLocal SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftOutlookoutlook.pst. Be sure that you are able to view hidden files and folders. Copy this file to another storage device, preferably a flash drive so it will be easy to access it later.
On Windows 2003: Open your Outlook then select File > Open > Outlook Data File. Browse for the outlook.pst file that you saved a while ago and then click Ok. If it is too late and you have already reformatted your computer, you know the folder Windows.old that you have on your hard drive? When you reformat Windows, it saves a copy of some of the files on this folder. Try to check if it still has the outlook file.

Can’t collect mail from outlook express
In this post I will tell you to configure your G-mail account please follow test steps to receive emails from G-mail:

Go to outlook express now go to TOOLS and select Email Accounts

Now select add email account.

Under server type select IMAP and click next Set your user name and log in information.

In server information you have to put the following data:

For IMAP set imap.gmail.com And for SMTP

Set smtp.gmail.com now click on More setting and in OUTGOING server tab check the following" MY outgoing server require….."
Next select advance tab and set the values as shown in the figure when you done click Ok and Finish to complete.
 
Can’t collect mail from outlook express
Hi,
It is very easy to get all data in your Ms Outlook. Your friend has suggested you very right. MS outlook is a very stable product as compared to outlook express. I personally used up to 40 GB of PST file and it never crashes. You can never think in outlook express. And if it is crashed once, it is very difficult to retrieve the data. So it is good decision to shift from outlook to MS outlook.
Now go to MS outlook and follow these steps.
Step-1: Go to File.Â
Step-2: Go to Import and Export.
Step-3: Go to import from another program or file.
Step-4: Go to outlook 4.x, 5.x, 6.x, or from windows mail and import all your outlook data in ms outlook.
