Cannot connect to Cyberghost VPN (related to Kaspersky Anti-Virus)

As part of my routine, I start up my laptop and run Cyberghost VPN.

When I was about to install Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012 on my system, an error message prompted me.

The error message says:

It is currently not possible to connect to the CyberGhost VPN network.
Check your firewall settings and make sure that you have an active
Internet connection.

Error:

It is currently not possible to connect to the CyberGhost VPN network.
Check your firewall settings and make sure that you have an active
Internet connection

Thereafter, I encountered another bubble message via task-bar saying that my security programs are set as off.

Furthermore, I was not able to report the issue to Kaspersky technical team for the reason that of the volume is about 300Mb. My Internet speed would take me lots of hours to fully accomplish the reporting. The following are the specifications of my system:

– Windows 7 Ultimate x64
– Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012
– No firewall enabled, and no other security applications are installed.

Do any of you have any idea to resolve this issue?

Whatsup Kent,

The most probable error here in this case is with the  protection and firewall that comes up with the Kaspersky antivirus. Since it offers triple-threat protection, it is therefore most likely that the firewall is what blocks your other security systems and the VPN's connection to the internet. Perhaps it doesn't trust the software!

So what you need to do in this case is; disable the protection or firewall that is installed with the anti-virus.

Ensure all the settings of the firewall are disabled and try reconnecting again to the internet.

If this doesn't work, you can also configure the following ports such as port 8080, 9005,  and troubleshoot as well as configure they are connected.

I hope this solves your query

Thanks
