I have loads of au files that I want played to iTunes. But when I opened them in iTunes, it did not work. Can I automatically convert au files to mp3 on mac with iTunes?

You cannot convert au files to mp3 automatically on your mac. but they can be imported into your iTunes program on your Macintosh computer. Your import settings can be changed in the iTunes preferences to import media from a CD to an MP3, as it is set to encode CD tracks into AAC format by default. Once an audiobook is added to your iTunes library, it can be burned to a CD and ripped back to your computer. That's it.
