But I don't recommend using them since they are not reliable. I suggest using Speccy. This application which gives you most accurate information about your system including CPU temperature and HDD temperature. You can download it from this link: http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download/standard and enjoy it's tools.

It is difficult to find a good free sidebar solution out there that can provide you reliable statistics regarding your HDD.
From my Experience I would choose O&O Disk stat.  Sidebar version is free and for simplicity I have attached the file( just change the extension from .jpg to .gadget)Â
You will see that this gadget is very easy to use and provides you with the info you will want from your HDD like temp, free space. You can choose which drive you want to monitor etc.Â
It is so simple and nice looking gadget that you will really like it.
