I am using Sony laptop with Windows 7 64-bit installed. The in-built biometric scanner in the computer is not working properly. It start up and stops instantaneously. It is shown as working properly in the Device Manager. I have tried reinstalling the driver and also the security software. Nothing worked. Please suggest a solution to resolve the issue.

Thank you.

Hi There,

This solution can help you regarding your queries. Just go to your Device Manager then enter 'Biometric' section, a listing of "TouchChip Fingerprint Coprocessor" will be shown at your menu. Now go to your Properties and then Click the last tab which is Power Management as indicated. If you click the Power Management on that Tab a Checkbox will Pop up and will give you some choices. Now click the checkbox to Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." After checking or clearing the box. You may now use your Biometric Fingerprint. Even the battery is running low surely the Fingerprint will always work.

Hope it helps.
