First you need to take care of all the requirements before going to the KDE desktop.

  1. You must have atleast 1 ghz processor, enough ram and space to install it.
  2. After the installation, make sure that you get all the drivers from the PC and all other extra things from their manufacturer’s websites.
  3. After that you need to take care of the backup of data that you are going to use.
  4. Personally I prefer than rainmeter as it is one of the most elegant and desirable desktop experience ever.
  5. You can also go for a cloud computing like GlideOS or anything similar that would give you a great experience.

KDE is an international community that produces free software. They create an integrated set of cross-platform programs that are planned to run on different operating systems such as FreeBSD, Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris, and Microsoft Windows.

It is famous for its Plasma Desktop which is the supplied desktop environment and also is the default working environment on different Linux distributions like the open SUSE, Kubuntu, and Pardus.

The basic objective of this community is to offer necessary desktop functions and programs for everyday needs and also to provide tools and documentation for developers so that they can create stand-alone software for the operating system.

The KDE application is actually based on the Qt framework and this toolkit’s initial GPL version exists only for the X11 platform. The KDE community was originally established by Matthias Ettrich in 1996 who was still a student at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen that time.
