Sony VAIO F series is good for graphic designers. It also has 1GB graphic card, so you really do not have to rely on processor to save multimedia. You also have a Blu- Ray disc player with the VAIO BUT VAIO has 3.46GHz CPU and is only a dual core having 4 threads. VAIO uses full HD resolution of 1920×1080.
THE XPS has better CPU as it is a quad core with 8 threads. XPS uses an HD resolution of 1600×900 which makes XPS better compared to VAIO. XPS mainstream GPU'S are powerful.
In comparison with VAIO, Dell Studio XPS is best for graphic designers.

I think I can’t decide which is best of the two since I like them both and we are using Dell computers in our house. I will just discuss here about Sony VAIO E Series.
Sony VAIO E Series 14P [SVE14A16FG] runs on a 2.1 GHz Ivy Bridge-based Intel Core i7-3612QM quad-core Hyper – Threading processor.
You won’t say anything because this is an excellent computer when comes to performance.
Besides being a quad-core processor, it also features the Hyper-Threading capability which boosts the processing performance and can simultaneously handle eight software threads which is really perfect for extreme multi-tasking and multi-threading applications.
The unit comes with AMD Radeon HD 7670M video card with switching technology, 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM, and 750 GB 5400rpm hard drive.
