Something is wrong with the Avira Antivirus I have installed on my computer. It is not able to update the virus database. When I click on update, it would only scan for an update and eventually would give an error that it failed to download the update. I tried to update it several times but it always gives the error.

Please help.

How can I update my version?

I also encountered that problem when i was using avira antivirus personal in my laptop. i can't update the antivirus because of too slow internet connection. first thing that do when i encountered that is i tried to reinstall the antivirus and then it will automatically run update. after that update you need to do a full system scan. after scanning. update it again, wait until the update is finished then check your license. it will be updated. if still no luck try to change another version  if you are using avira antivirus free, you can also try the premium version or personal version. You can also try checking your date and time settings, some of bios resets when they shut down improperly,it can affect the versions and updates of your antivirus. hope it helps.

Your Avira Anti-virus is outdated that's why it was not able to download an update from the internet. The old Avira anti-virus has specified date range that it has a limit of usage. It requires a new Avira installer to be able to download an update from their website. You have to uninstall the Avira Anti-virus. If you're having a problem uninstalling, set your computer to a safemode and uninstall it from there. You can download a new Avira Anti-Virus installer from Avira Website. Make sure that you restart your computer before installing a new Avira Anti-Virus.
