Automatic changing of my browser homepage

My browsers automatically change its homepage. I tried to change the automatic homepage set on my browser to https://www.google.com/

but all of the sudden after applying the changes and I press the home button on my browser, it doesn’t load the google.com and upon checking of the default homepage the default homepage is not that I have put in. How to disable automatic changing of home page?

  • There is no such think like automatic changing of homepage in your browser settings. You can set multiple default homepage but not automatically changed to specific website.
  • The issue you have encountered is cause by a. The attack is also known as “hi-jacking”. The SpyWare creates a script for your browser to change its settings including the default homepage.
  • This issue can be solved by scanning your computer against viruses. Clean your computer and free from virus infection.
  • Note, I you have already attacked by a SpyWare program, there are some instances that the Spyware disables the capability of the Anti-Virus to detect virus infection. So you must be aware of it. There are some utility tools today which is capable to scan your computer during boot-up so that system files infected by a virus may clean too.
  • Search for Hirens Boot CD on the internet and use this utility for cleaning your computer for viruses.

  • You need to default the homepage of the most frequent visited page. 
  • For Internet Explorer: Open the webpage, Click the tools from the menu and click options of Internet. From the general tab, type the webpage URL which you wanted to be your homepage or click the current button if you just like the current page then click OK. 
  • For Mozilla Firefox: Open the page, click the menu of tools option and type the webpage URL which you want to be the homepage under the General and Home Page. Then hit Ok button.
  • Problem is solved.

I have several web browsers installed on my computer but I haven’t used one that randomly changes the default home page. Popular web browsers like Google Chrome, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Internet Explorer starts with a fixed home page. You can always change the default home page any time you want but the browser will never change the home page by itself.

If your browser doesn’t save your selected home page, a file is probably corrupt. Try to uninstall and reinstall the browser or install the latest version. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller and select the web browser in error among the applications then click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process.

When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, close Revo Uninstaller then download the free version of CCleaner and install it. Once installed, start CCleaner and clean your system. When it is finished, restart your computer and install your web browser back.
