Hi there,

I have an old Thinkpad T60 laptop with windows xp and I have been using it without hiccups for a while. But after a routing fresh windows xp install, it seems that I have an atmel tpm driver error , which comes up as an comes up in the device manager with the yellow exclamation mark and the status stating as driver problems.

But the thing is that I have been using the same drivers for a while and never encountered this problem before.

Can anyone please provide me a solution to the problem?

Thanks

Hi

This usually means that the ATMEL Trusted Platform Module driver for Windows XP was not properly installed. This could have been an error during installation.

Visit the following website : http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-58054 and download the driver for your notebook.

Right click on the device in device manager, and update the driver with the file downloaded.

Should fix your problem.

If you have Lenovo ThinkPad T60 notebook and you are having a driver problem, just uninstall and reinstall the affected driver. Go to Lenovo ThinkPad T60 and download all the necessary drivers and software for your machine. The drivers available for the Lenovo ThinkPad T60 notebook support Windows XP (32-bit only), Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Once downloaded, click “Start” then right-click “Computer” and select “Manage”.

In “Computer Management” window, select “Device Manager” on the left pane. On the right, right-click the item with the yellow exclamation mark and select “Uninstall”. When uninstall is complete, restart the computer. If Windows prompts you to install the new device found, click to cancel. Open Windows Explorer then navigate to the download folder. Double-click the file you downloaded and follow the instructions to install the driver.

Try also updating your operating system to the latest Service Pack. Download one of the following and update your operating system:

Note: a system restart is required after installing the update.
