I have a Logitech C600 webcam running on my Windows 7 PC. It was working fine before but since yesterday I was having some issues when I enable preview. I am getting a black screen only following with an error message as shown below:

AMCap

Unable to add the video capture source to the filter graph.

Class not registered

[0x80040154 / 10683]

OK

I even tried it on Skype but it only detects the speakers and its microphone. The video was not detected and I can only see black screen. How can I resolve this issue?

Hi Albert,
The error can be solved by following the steps mentioned below:
1) Check that the computer and the Windows requirements are met for the user
2) Select the correct input by navigating to 'Options' > 'Crossbar Video Input'
3) Unplug the webcam, reboot the system, plug in the webcam
4) Uninstall the drivers from 'Control Panel' > 'Add or Remove Programs' icon
5) Install the new drivers from the manufacturers website by downloading them in the system
6) Restart the system after the drivers are installed

If you have a problem with your webcam, make sure the driver is installed. If the camera is working properly before, it means the driver is already installed. In this case, try reinstalling the camera software. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install. Once installed, start Revo then select your Logitech camera software among the applications and click “Uninstall.”

Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and click to delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, exit Revo then install the Logitech camera software back. If this doesn’t work, try updating the software.

Download the Logitech C600 driver and install. If the problem continues, make sure the camera is plugged in properly on the USB port. Try transferring the USB cable to another USB port.
