Adobe reader X crashes please help

Hi everyone,

My sister has been getting a problem on Reader X. She tried to run the reader on Windows XP SP 3, and it crashes. She mentioned that a runtime error appears saying that Program 1:Program Files|AdobeReader 10|AcroRD32.exe. This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Please contact the application’s support team for more information. She just installed the program yesterday and it worked fine until the error message suddenly appeared after she closed a PDF file.

Quite strange is the program automatically runs itself and then crashes. She also tried to click the OK button on the runtime error message from Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. After doing it, she got another AcorMissingCompWClass application error.

I am quiet sorry for my sister because she keeps on getting these error messages whenever she tried to launch the Reader. Does she need to uninstall the reader and reinstall to be able to fix this problem? Do you have any ideas why she keep on getting these messages?

There is something wrong with the adobe reader x version with the windows XP. There is practically no reason why this error comes and therefore it has no solution as well.

All I can find from the internet is to tell your sister to uninstall this version of the adobe reader and install a 9. x version of adobe reader.

The only reason behind this is that the adobe reader x installation exe has some files that is not compatible to the windows XP and whenever you try to access those files or the system wants to use them it causes a ripple in the system which makes the adobe reader to crash and your sister then see this message.

Just ask him to revert back to previous version and she will never get this type of error again.
