I have Adobe Illustrator, and I am trying to export the layout using the  Mainfold.

I am getting this error every time I open a new drawing in Illustrator. The drawing opens up, but I have noticed 3 layers that were dropped (one has lines on it, others have points on it and another with labels. Illustrator is a very important part of my work, thus I need this to be fixed so bad.

Any fix on this issue?

Thank you so much.

Hi,

  1. Activate the content recovery mode, and then run the recovery on the files to change them to a format that can be customized in a text editor.
  2. Open the recovered copy of the file in a plain text editor such as Text Edit in Mac OS or Word Pad Windows OS. Use a more conventional word processing application and save the file as plain text without letting a hidden .txt extension to be included.
  3. Search for the following string:

    %_/Binary: /ASCII85Decode

This string is trailed by text that has a tilde trailed by a greater than symbol:
    ~>
The next line is in the form of:
    %_; (hItem) ,
where hItem could be some different dictionary key name.

  4. choose the text beginning with "%_/Binary" through and counting "%_; (hItem) ,"
  5. Remove the selected text.
  6. Do again the search to get further instances, and if found, repeat the deletion.
  7. Save the file.
  8. Open the file in Illustrator, and choose File click Save As and save with a new name.
  9. Close the file and this step is necessary.

Hello,

You can try the following methods which might solve your problem.

1. Move the file to desktop. This breaks any possible link and you can open the file.

2. Or first you can save the file to the original location with a new name and then re-link the linked files by clicking on the triangle of the link pallete. Then again save the file.

3. You can also change the file extension of the damaged illustrator to pdf and then move the file to the new illustrator file.

Hope this information proves useful to you.

This problem sometimes happen due to some unknown reason and the file gets unreadable or corrupt after saving. If you encounter this problem when opening an Adobe Illustrator file, first, you need to enable the Content recovery mode in Adobe Illustrator. Adobe Illustrator has a Document Recovery feature that re-saves the document so the file can be reviewed with a text editor application.

This feature deletes bad data which then allows Adobe Illustrator to open the document. The entire procedure is not that simple and you should do it very carefully. Always create a backup copy of your files before doing any changes. For the complete guide, head down to How to recover a corrupted Illustrator (AI) File. Note: when doing the procedure, be very keen with details.
