Hi there,

When I want to install Adobe Air on my laptop with Ubuntu this error appears every time. I have checked for the open applications and none was found. Any solution for this error ? What could be the problem ?

Thank you !

Twhirl

Sorry an error has occurred. The application could not be installed because another application is already being installed. Complete the first installation before proceeding with this one.

Here is the way to install Adobe AIR in Ubuntu [10.10 Maverick Meerkat Alpha 64bit and the same for 10.04 Lucid Lynx 64bit]

·         Installing IA32LIBS

You may use flash-player from Synaptic Package Manager. Or, execute the command (sudo apt-get install ia32-libs) in the terminal.

·         Getting Adobe Air package or installer

Download the bin version from “Adobe Air Download Page”.

·         Installation

Before installation, be sure of no apt or synaptic running. Open the terminal to change the directory (where the deb file is saved) and execute the command :
chmod +x AdobeAIRInstaller.bin

./AdobeAIRInstaller.bin

Download deb version:

sudo dpkg -i adobeair.deb

·         Installation of Air Applications

Applications > Accessories > Adobe AIR Application Installer

Open terminal and type : Adobe AIR Application Installer

Type “A” and press TAB.

It will work.
