On an HP ProLiant BL460c Gen8 Server, if I have SATA drives that I would like to add to it, will I be able to mix it with the existing SSD Drives? If I can add them, will there be any effect on its performance or should I just use SSD drives instead?

Hello Dawn

Before I answer your question, I am assuming that you have a RAID setup on your server. If my assumption is correct, then it would be a Hybrid RAID to mix up different disk types in the same RAID confguration. Secondly if you are adding them to expand them from storage point of view, then, the drives are supported, so you can merrily add the SATA drives. Either way it is not an issue. In the RAID configuration ensure that SSD is used for R/W operations and mechanical drives are used for mirroring.
