Hi,

I have installed Adobe reader & i normally use Active X control to link my stored PDF files on my hard drive to my website, which i enter the URL that opens to the file. I entered the URL to one of my files to download it for reference but i get an error 'Cannot read the file on memory'. What could be the issue on Active X control of adobe reader?

Hi,

The issue related to the above error was considered to be PDF.OCX error which requires either repair or update of the Adobe reader installation when opening the PDF files from the internet web browser.

This may be because of the older version of Adobe reader 6.0 you are using. To overcome this issue, try the steps below.

1. If the support for PDF.OCX is disabled, enable it to avoid the error by clicking “Start”, type “manage add-ons” into the search box and press “Enter.” Then, click “Manage Add-ons” and select “Adobe Acrobat Control for ActiveX” and click the radio button and click “Close” to save the changes.

2. Click the “Help” option on the Adobe Reader and select “Detect and Repair.” If the error was due to a corrupt Adobe Reader installation, repairing it will resolve the issue.

3. Update Adobe Acrobat Reader to a newer version so that it can eliminate such errors.

Hope the above information helps you better.
