Active Directory Domain Services Installation Confusion

The DNS name "<single label DNS domain name> proposed for this Active Directory domain consists of a single label, which is not recommended. DNS domain name should be unique and fully qualified, consisting of one or more labels separated by a period ("."), followed by a top level domain.

Example: corp.<domain>.com

If you click No, you can assign a fully qualified DNS name like the example. If you implement a single-label DNS domain name, you must configure all member computers and domain controllers as described in article 300684 in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/300684/deployment-and-operation-of-active-directory-domains-that-are-configur) so they can register records and resolve queries until the domain is retired.

Do you really want to assign a single-label DNS domain name to this Active Directory domain?”

I am getting this error right now and I have no idea of which to click whether to select Yes or No.

Hi Ariel, each domain single or multiple has each own advantages and disadvantages. It's for you to take decision which one you want to choose. For insights on your part, you must consider, where are you located, what type of organization you have,  each domain is a separate security boundary.

This is the advantages of one powerful domain with several pages dedicated to a single subject can have more inbound links, more pages, sometimes URL is exactly the same. The disadvantage of one powerful domain with several pages dedicated to single subject is less focused on single theme. While the advantages of different domain dedicated to different subject is that it can focus more to a subject per domain, and its disadvantages are less inbound links, less power, less pages.
