About Encrypting File System (EFS)?

qa-featured

The Encrypting File System is a feature of Windows which is meant to help you in the storage of information on your hard disk in an encrypted format so as to keep the information secure against unauthorized access and intruders.

So you can use the Encrypting File System feature to protect your IP addresses from being exposed too in case that is what you want to do. The encryption process is simple; all you need to do is just select a check box in the file or folder's properties to turn it on. Something to note is that the files will be encrypted when you close them, but when you open them they will be automatically ready to use.
