If most of the programs installed on your computer trigger an error, try to uninstall and reinstall. That “7zFM.exe” file on the screenshot is the 7-Zip file manager. If the same error appears when you open 7-Zip, uninstall and reinstall. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install. Once installed, start Revo then select 7-Zip among the applications and click “Uninstall”.

Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, exit Revo then install 7-Zip back or download the latest if you haven’t updated yet. Head down to the 7-Zip Home page then download the latest.

If this doesn’t work, try using the System File Checker utility. Press the Windows key + R to bring up the “Run” dialog then type the following and then hit Enter:

sfc /scannow

Insert your Windows installation CD or DVD when you are prompted then continue. Wait until the process is complete. When it is finished, restart the computer.
