3ds Max 2009 error message

Hello everyone,

The trouble I’m having is with the 3Ds Max 2009 32 bit.

The error message is displayed after running the application, and I’m unable to click anything.

The message goes like this:

Application Error

An error has occurred, and the application will now close.

No scene changes have occurred since you last save.

I’m using Windows Vista so I expect that the compatibility isn’t the problem. If there’s any other solution you have please post it here.

Thanks very much.

Greetings Miss Holly!

Have you installed this program before or is it freshly installed? Even if you uninstall 3ds Max there are certain files and folders left on your system. One of these may be corrupt that is why it won't work even if you reinstall it. I would like you to try the following:

– Update your hardware video driver

– Change the Max video driver used (i.e. if using openGL to D3D9)

– Change the render system used by ofusion

– Post your ogre.log file

This is what I've tried when I encountered that error. I hope that this will also work for you.

That seems to be a generic error with no clear indication what caused it. If this is a newly installed application, check that your computer meets the requirements. Autodesk 3ds Max 2009 supports Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (32-bit only) and Windows Vista both 32-bit and 64-bit.

It requires Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent AMD Athlon 64 or faster processor, 512 MB RAM, 500 MB free space, and Microsoft DirectX 9.0c-compatible video card. If the problem continues, try to uninstall and reinstall Autodesk 3ds Max 2009. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select your Autodesk 3ds Max 2009 among the applications and click “Uninstall”.

Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, close Revo Uninstaller then restart the computer. After booting, install Autodesk 3ds Max 2009 back and see if it works.
