OS

OS

I am an IT professional and can solve the common hardware or software issue. Very often my friends come to me with various types of problem and so far I have satisfied all of them more or less. But in this case I can’t find any solution.

Yesterday one of my friend came to me and told me that he forget the login password of his Compaq notebook which is running on Windows XP. I have tried to enter as administrator but it is also protected by password. I don’t know any other option to access the OS. Please help me in this regard. Is there any utility software available to unlock the windows login password?

Hi,

I am Rachel. I am having a problem with my MSI wind U100 netbook. I bought it from a friend and I do not know if she bought it with Operating System already or if she’s the one who installed it. Anyway, my netbook needs reformatting. I have a bootable Microsoft Windows XP CD. My problem now is it does not have a CD-ROM Drive for me to install it. I do not want to spend an external disc since I am not using it.

I heard that Microsoft already presented the Windows 8 user interface. I'm very curious how is it going to be different from Windows 7. When it launched, another for Microsoft and another for the apps that will be compatible with this OS.

Windows 7 is already a faster OS and how much more the Windows 8. Not sure if the IT people will like this because the way they change their operating system would be a lot of work for them.

If anyone knows when it is going to be available for the users please let me know.

Thanks.

Every time I left my pc on standby mode, it crashes and needs to be turned on again to continue using it. The first thing I will do after I woke up is to turn it on then check my emails. After checking them all, I will head to the kitchen for breakfast then when I go back to my pc and it’s always off.

It’s very inconvenient always to always turn it on especially when I’m in a hurry.

Here are the specs:

  • Acer Aspire
  • Intel Pentium Dual Core
  • 500 GB HDD
  • 2 GB DDR3 Memory
  • Windows 7 Starter

There are lots of files that I do not need on my pc.

I decided to do a pc restore to factory defaults after backing up my important files.

Now, I’m getting a message that says “BootMGR is missing Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to Restart” whenever I turn it on.

It seems that I messed up with the settings.

I tried to do a startup repair but it’s asking for the HDD’s disc.

It is a Dell OptiPlex 380 Desktop and has Windows Vista Operating System. I should have not touched it.

Any solution you may have is very much appreciated.

I attached a screenshot for reference.

I am getting svchost.exe every time I open my computer.

It’s kind of annoying because if I press the ok button, it will give me an error and if I press cancel it will pop up again.

I’m hoping to get some solution first before I format my computer to save time and effort.

For now I’m using my other computer to go to the internet. It would be of great help if someone could tell me an easy fix.

I am struggling to get this issue resolved for a couple of days now and I don’t want to give up.

My computer is acting real slowly so I did system restore. Now when I open some of the applications installed on my pc, it will say “application unavailable”.

Do I need to install those affected applications again? I hope there is something in the registry that I can just edit to make them working again because reinstallation is very time consuming. Please give any possible solutions to my problem. I really need it right now because I use some of those apps for work. I do not want my boss to get mad at me.

Thank you so much.

Recently I bought a genuine window 7 and install it on my laptop but before that i use counterfeit windows 7. So far my counterfeit product seem to work well, no technical issues encounter. Some people prefer to use the fake one rather than the Genuine for some reasons, one of this is the cost of buying a genuine Os. Fake one can be downloaded and can be use to manipulate the software and activate it without paying. All the feature are similar, and I think fake one can also update windows.

I'm just wondering what is the advantage of using a Genuine OS. Does using counterfeit product may harm  your hardware or any installed software?

What are the risk the may encounter from installing a counterfeit OS?

Is it against the law?.

I have recently built myself a new computer, here are the details:

So far I have installed 3 different Windows Professional operating systems after clean formats. First I installed a Windows XP Professional corporate, then I installed a Windows XP Professional 64-bit corporate and finally most recently I installed just plain Windows XP Professional. Every time I reinstall everything seems to go fine, I fully update XP and install all drivers, install AVG antivirus and update everything else completely. This problem happens over time after every reformat.
