I use BlackBerry Storm 9500 with Qualcomm MSM7600 and GPU Adreno 130.  I was wondering, is YouTube free on bis/blackberry data connection?  Have any feedback on this?

Hello Dear Friend,

Generally, video streaming does not count as part of your unlimited internet plan. If you are streaming through the BlackBerry Browser then it is not counted as part of your unlimited internet plan.

Many people using “YouTube BlackBerry Application” said they did not get charged, but it is possible that some charge could have been made.

You will need to test first and check your balance to find out if any deduction had been done.

Charging for video streaming also depends on your internet plan.

Here is a post which has good information about this issue.

Check it out.

Hope this will help you.

YouTube is free for everybody and you can watch any video free of charge from anywhere and from any device. Though the videos on this website are free, the internet service you are using is not free. So, if you want to watch YouTube videos on your phone, check with your subscription if it is supported.

When you watch videos on the internet, you are actually downloading that video on your device as you watch it but the video is not saved on your device. It is just downloaded temporarily as you stream the video on your device. Videos are not small data especially when you watch it on YouTube.

The size of the video can go anywhere from 100 MB to several GBs and this will be a huge consumption on your data plan subscription. Cellular network operators normally have separate subscription plans for video services like YouTube. Check with your network provider regarding this service.
