Hi, yes it’s true that the beta version of iOS6 no longer includes the Youtube App. The main reason is that the license of Apple to include the Youtube app in iOS 6 has ended. But Google is now working on Youtube app to be on the App Store. For now, you can use Safari browser to access Youtube.

Hi Silvia P Hopper,

There is a problem on Apple ISO 6 when using YouTube, but here is a solution. Just find a clever way to use it on one of your other apps, and then install Chrome or Safari browser on your device. Now go to YouTube and enjoy.

Thanks.

If Apple dropped support for accessing YouTube on iOS 6 maybe that was before on that operating system version. Today, the YouTube website is pretty much accessible via iOS and they even have a YouTube app on the Apple App Store. If you want to access YouTube via your iOS device, go to YouTube on iOS on your device to download the YouTube app.

The app is restricted from ages 16 and below. It requires iOS 8.0 or higher and supports iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch including the Apple TV. The latest iOS version is 9.3.3. So, if your device is running on iOS 9.3.3 you will be able to download and install the YouTube app. The latest version is YouTube 11.28 released on July 25, 2016 and is around 54 MB.

Aside from using your iOS device to access YouTube, you can also access the site using your laptop via the Safari web browser. If you are wondering why Apple removed the YouTube app from iOS 6, that’s because of Apple’s licensing agreement.

Apple’s official response behind the move was “our license to include the YouTube app in iOS has ended, customers can use YouTube in the Safari browser and Google is working on a new YouTube app to be on the App Store”, according to The Verge.
