Your Laptop Power Charger Consumption, Dynamics and Analytics

I need someone to give me a quick rundown on how to compute how much power my laptop charger draws from the mains whenever I charge my laptop. I am suspecting that my laptop charger consume too much power and I am not sure why. The charger can get very hot most of the time and electricity bills seem to be in the roof. Does a faulty laptop charger consume lots of power and if so why? Do older laptop chargers consume more than newer laptop chargers?

To know how to compute how much power your laptop charger draws from the mains whenever you charge your laptop just follow these steps listed below.

  1. From your desktop, select the start menu and go to control panel.
  2. Select sound and hardware.
  3. Then in power options, select change battery setting.
  4. It opens (select a power plan), you just choose balanced (recommended).
  5. This will automatically balance performance with energy consumption.
  6. Or if you want to save energy for a long time just select energy saver, it will save energy by reducing your laptop's performance.

I have another solution to this problem as follows:

  1. When you see the battery icon on your task bar on the desktop showing 100% full battery or have filled full with green or white color as shown in the image if you are using a new version laptop then it will not harm your laptop even you did not plug off the charger in other case you have to plug out otherwise it will harm your Laptop charging duration.
  2. If it shows the low battery option or becomes red and have lost cell as shown in the image then you must have to plug in before it shut off it will also harm your laptop battery.

The above procedure reduces your power consumption and billing and also battery damaging.

  1. To know how much time remains of your battery just move your mouse on the battery icon on your taskbar on the desktop it shows you the time how much left.
