Xbox Owners have claimed inability to connect to Xbox Live. Users have reported issues in signing in from the Xbox consoles and from Xbox.com. Is the issue a denial of service attack as reported by a hacker group? What is a DOS attack and what are the consequences of such an attack on the website?

HELLO

A DoS Attack is a Denial of Service attack which means that a computer and a internet connection are used to overload a server with packets (TCP / UDP). The point of such a denial of service attack is to stop working the server’s bandwidth and other resources. This will make the server inaccessible to others, thereby blocking the website or whatever else is hosted there. We can't say for sure if XBOX begins attacking form DoS Attack but it may be an option.
