I just got a new XBOX 360 and I was advised to get the NAT type on the router set to open. I also have a PS3 and was told the same thing before. In opening the NAT, will I do the same thing when the PS3 was configured?
XBOX 360 NAT type on the router set to open
Router needs to do port forwarding and it has to be open. NAT can be compare as a receptionist in a hotel. You can leave an instruction not to receive any visitor or calls in a certain period of time and they will not allow any until the instructions are changed.
NAT tells the client what to look for and perform a lookup on the table listed. Once found, it'll be then transferred to your extension to open the line of communications.
This the same applies to computer and other devices that need Internet access. PS3, XBox, Printers and ect.
