Dear Snowwhite,

I can understand your problem. Actually there are many reasons that’s why we need to hide some folders from others. Windows have the self-hidden system that you can apply.

  • Right click on the folder that you want to be hide. Select the attributes Hidden and click ok.
  • Now Open control panel and go to Folder Option.
  • Click view tab. Under this view tab, click on don’t show hidden files.
  • Then click ok. See, your file will be hidden.
  • Again when you want to see this folder,
  • Open control panel and go to Folder Option.
  • Click view tab. Under this view tab, click on show hidden files and click ok.

I hope you can do it.

Thank you.

Hi Good day!

So you have a problem in how to hide your drives without a software I think this will help by only using your command prompt.

First go to start and run type "diskpart". And a DOS  appear with a following description then type the word "list volume". For example you want to hide drive C then you type "volume 3" then a message will appear on the window.

And now type the word "remove C" and after that a message will appear {Diskpart Remove the Drive letter}. Diskpart now removes the letter C. In some point it also ask for reboot so you need to reboot so it will work. Now check/look at your my computer and you will see you cannot find the C drive there and now your data is already safe for the other unauthorized users.

And if you want to access the drive again just do the three first steps and lastly for the fourth step instead of typing remove give "assign letter C" it will give you the unknown volume a word/name you dud! Will be able to access that drive again.
