Hello guys here at techyv. I have files which are in zip format.

There is a message pops up when trying to extract the files, how can I get my files?

Those files are very important for me.

Hello,

A CRC or Cyclic Redundancy Check is a calculation made from all the data in a file to ensure accuracy. A CRC error in WinZip means that the data in the zip files are either damaged which can be either one missing file, the entire file damaged or multiple files damaged. This happens due to bad media where the zip file is stored, or Bad internet connection if the files are downloaded, or problem with the disk drives. Sometimes the Antivirus softwares also damage the zip archives.

A  Simple workaround to save some of your data is as follows:

Open WinZip and unzip your selected zip file (menus/toolbar – click the Extract button)

In the unzip button select a target folder, which you create now, and click unzip

WinZip will start extracting / unzipping the files, for any damaged file (CRC Error) it will display the message, do not click on the popup, but directly go to the target folder, and look for the already unzipped files, and the file against which the error is displayed, copy all of them and paste them to some other folder. Now click on the popup, and your files are saved to some other folder, with partially corrupted data also.

There are some softwares which advertise repairing of corrupted zip data like : Repair data” from http://www.recoverdatatools.com/zip-recovery.html

Which you may try
