Hi,

In this scenario, WinRar is blocking the file extraction and this incur if the file you downloaded is corrupted or damaged or you get it from an invalid source. It is advisable not to extract the file since it is unsafe for your computer and it might cause malwares.

How to fix the RAR file:

1. First step is to remove the corrupted file and all its components from your computer and then download another one from a trusted source.

2. Utilize WinRar on extracting files. There are many tools for extracting a file but I strongly recommend WinRar.

3. If you commonly use the Quick Extraction Method, utilize Advanced Extraction Method and then double-click on your left mouse button to open the WinRAR software and then locate the file that you want to extract by typing the path.

4. Buy the RAR Recovery Software. If you cannot download it again, there are various software that you can use for repairing corrupted RAR files.

Hello Wilton,

That error can occur on machines that are running Windows Vista as well as Windows 7 operating systems and they have the User Account Control (UAC) is enabled. Or maybe you are not running the extraction using administrator rights. Try using the following workarounds to resolve the issue.

Run the Download as an Administrator
Make sure that you are logged as the administrator when extracting the files, you can just choose the option to run the download as an administrator. You can do that by right-clicking on the file that you downloaded and after that select Run As Administrator.

Disable User Account Control (UAC)
Go to the User Control in Windows and then disable it, for it may be the one blocking the extraction of the download.

Regards,

Carl
