Disk Defragmenter helps in improving the data access in the computer. It arranges the file fragments in the hard drive so that you will have the shortest amount of time possible when executing an application or loading a file. It sorts different file types and places them in the hard drive accordingly.

Defragmenting a hard drive is important especially after installing a fresh copy of Windows in a computer. It is necessary because all of the file fragments are still scattered in different sectors of the hard drive after the installation.

It will move all the file fragments in sectors that are close to each other so that when you access a file the computer can load it immediately and will not spend more time looking for the other half of the file located in other sectors of the hard drive.

All defragmenting programs are the same. They only differ in the presentation of tasks. But basically they have the same procedure in defragmenting hard drives.

If you are curious on other hard drive defragmenters, try searching and downloading other brands of disk defragmenters from the internet.
