Hello,

I have just updated my Windows XP to Windows Vista and here comes the problem when I tried to activate Windows Update just like I usually do when I need updated service pack from Microsoft. But this error shows up. And I have used this program using Windows XP and it just worked perfectly fine.

I usually have updates everyday but now after Installing Windows Vista this happens. So could someone help me for this to work.

Windows could not search for new updates

There can be several reasons for this error which are explained below:

  1. Have you registered your Windows at Microsoft? Or is your Windows genuine? These are the questions whose answer you should know. If your Windows is not genuine, you cannot update your Windows. Microsoft provides update service only to its genuine users. So please make sure that you have a genuine window purchased from Microsoft. Or just follow the link to check that your window is genuine or not. Microsoft validation

  1. If you have genuine windows then make sure that your Internet connection is working properly. You will not be able to update until you have a working network connection.
