At the time of updating windows, I am jammed with an error message which you can see at the below attached image

Windows Update Standalone Installer

Windows Update Standalone Installer

Installer encountered an error: 0x80096002 The certificate for the signer of the message is invalid or not found

Are there any resolution steps through which I can fix this?

Hi,

This error may appear due to these reasons:-

  1. If you are downloading Windows Identity Foundation updates from microsoft’s website e.g(Windows6.1-KB958830-x64-RefreshPkg.msu).
  2. If you are using windows 8 you need Windows6.2 instead of Windows6.1 or Windows6.0.
  3. If while installing Link Server 2012 you are prompted “ Windows Identity Foundation is required” then make sure to install it from Add Roles and Features Wizard.

Hello Raquel

Hope you are fine

You don't need to be worry about that.Microsoft support center has the solution for it.I am giving you a link which directs you to the concerned page where 5 methods are listed.Try these five methods one by one until desired output comes out i.e. Window will not give any standalone installer error after this.If the problem still persist, then contact Microsoft extended links there.Hope you have got this.
