If you had a failed restoration because you don’t have any restore points for your handset available on your computer, try disconnecting your handset from your computer then restart your phone. See if the phone starts normally. If it doesn’t work, turn off the handset, open the back cover and then remove the battery as well as the SIM card.

After five to ten minutes, reinstall the battery but don’t insert the SIM card then start the phone. See if your phone starts and returns to normal. If you see the phone is back to normal, turn it off again, insert the SIM card and then turn it on again. Check if it is able to connect to your network.

If it doesn’t work, try resetting your handset to factory default. But remember when resetting to factory default, your phone’s entire data will be erased and this includes all purchased applications. If you are using Windows Phone 7, in the program list, tap Settings. See image.

In Settings screen, make sure System is selected and not Application. See image.

After that, select About and then tap “Reset phone”. When you are prompted, select Yes to continue the reset. See image.

Before resetting your phone to factory default, make sure to backup your phone’s data on a microSD card. Also, if you don’t want to format the microSD card, make sure to remove it from your phone before resetting the handset.
