Up till now my experience with Windows Media Player went quite friendly. Though, recently when I tried to open a file using it, it results me an error message sounds as,

An Internal Application Error Has Occurred.

I am in great need of help as I’ve to keep wmp files, but nothing works well in this case.

Furthermore, I’ve also tried to download a newer version from the official website of Microsoft, though I’m faced with the same annoying error message. Apart from this, I am also not able to uninstall or re-install it. Except this, I didn’t find it in Add/Remove Program list as well.

While when I try to delete it manually from Program Files directory, it gets deleted but after a couple of second later it gets back to its old status.

I’m not sure how to get deal with it and fix it to the normal. Someone suggested me to install Real Player as an alternative to Windows Media Player, though it works well also but still I’ve couple of files which cannot be played over real player.

Hi Hunter Chasee,

To resolve this problem just does this:

1. Click Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs Select media player and remove.

2. Reregister the jscript.dll. Click Start > Run type cmd and click ok. At the command prompt type regsvr32 /u jscript.dll press enter.

Then at the command prompt again type regsvr32 jscript.dll press enter. Restart your computer. If it’s didn’t resolve the issue just download the latest version of Windows Media Player.
