Hello,

I've encountered this problem before and the solution below worked for me:

  • Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel
  • System> Hardware > Device Manager
  • click the + at the "DVD/CD-ROM drives" > Right click on the drive which isn't working > Uninstall
  • Shut down Windows, power off the PC
  • Power up window
  • Windows should detect the presence of unlisted hardware

This is simple solution but yet it is very effective. Please let me know if it will work for you. Good luck!

Hello Meira,

This is common problem occurs while dealing with CD burner software. You might want to try the following steps to get rid of the problem:

1- Put the cursor on my Computer and right click it.

2- Select Properties-> Select Device manager under the Hardware tab.

3- Now locate IDE ATA/ATAPI controller.

4- Select the secondary (not the primary) IDE channel

5- Uninstall it.

6- Reboot the computer. It will re-install it for the CD rom.

This will do it for you.

Thanks
