Windows Media Player 10 Error Code C00D109B

Hello. I upgraded my Windows Media Player 9 to WMP 10.

I used this as my default media player. It’s been working well since I upgraded it to version 10.

But lately, when I try to play an .mp3 file, I double-clicked the file on my saved media folder to automatically play it on WMP.

But nothing appears on screen. The song did not even play its sound. But I got an error message with Error code C00D109B.

I don’t really know what this error is all about as much as I also don’t have any idea on how to fix it.

Can someone please help me?

The problem is the codec used by older version of windows media player 9, so if you made an upgrade to a Windows Media Player 10 you must update or reinstall the codec used or you will have the error that your system can not find the files needed.

I suggest two solutions, the first one I have used personally to solve the same problem:

Solution 1:
On the Windows Media Player properties select player tab then check download codec automatically.

Solution 2:
Start windows Media Player and select help > check for Updates.
Will this update your all decoder files to the version appropriate to your new Media player.

I hope I was helpful
