Hello Zion,

To resolve the issue you are getting in Windows Live Mail, you will need to try the following workaround:

  • You will need to go to Tools, and then click on Options.
  • After that click on the General Tab.
  • You will need to try removing the checkmark from the 'send and receive messages at start up'.
  • After that click on Apply and then choose OK to save the changes.

Also check if you can delete an unread email under Quickview. That could also help resolve the error that you are getting right now.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Carl

That happens because the account or your account in Microsoft Windows Live Mail is configured incorrectly. If your account is working properly before and you can send and receive email messages without a single problem, something might have happened with your account’s settings. Check your account’s configuration again. You can check again the IMAP and or POP settings from your mail service provider.

For Yahoo! Mail, here are the correct IMAP and POP settings:

For IMAP:

  • Incoming mail server:
    • Server – imap.mail.yahoo.com
    • Port – 993
    • Requires SSL – Yes
  • Outgoing mail server (SMTP):
    • Server – smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    • Port – 465 or 587
    • Requires SSL – Yes
    • Requires authentication – Yes

For POP:

  • Incoming mail server:
    • Server – pop.mail.yahoo.com
    • Port – 995
    • Requires SSL – Yes
  • Outgoing mail server (SMTP):
    • Server – smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    • Port – 465 or 587
    • Requires SSL – Yes
    • Requires TLS – Yes (if available)
    • Requires authentication – Yes
